The maker is a Singaporean entrepreneur  Shalini Punshi (founder of MYO candles), who donates the proceeds from these candles to sponsor eye operations with Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, (www.akhandjyoti.org) which is a non-profit organisation registered and largest member eye hospital in Eastern India to eradicate curable blindness.
